“I first met Jim through a coaching session at the 2005-2006 ELAM Program and then continued to work with him for another year. My goal was to use his experience to help me decide among various career options, as well as to help me learn how to be a more effective leader at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. I found Jim's advice and coaching to be extremely helpful. His considerable experience gives him insight about all types of different situations. Jim always had new, useful ways of looking at challenges and identifying opportunities. In some instances, he gave me targeted tasks to work on. It was a pleasure to work with him. Jim was flexible about how frequently we met. I was also pleasantly surprised how well meeting with him over the phone and with a two-hour time difference worked. Every time one of my friends has asked about a career coach, I have recommended Jim and will continue to do so in the future.”

“I've worked with Jim, both in the area of business leadership, as well as with career coaching. I find Jim to be very effective and knowledgeable in these areas, so much so that I've worked with him at 3 different organizations over the past seven years. He's effective in both one-to-one coaching situations as well as directing team-oriented coaching initiatives. His insight into career counseling focuses on the value one brings to an organization and how to capitalize on that value when positioning yourself to the organization. Jim is especially experienced with negotiating strategies and always makes himself available at any time of the day during these crucial final discussions. I would highly recommend him for anyone seeking either executive coaching or career counseling. His top qualities: Great Results , Expert , Creative."

About our Organizational Effectiveness Consulting
"I have developed an enormous appreciation for the power of a well crafted and fluid evaluation process from working with Dr. Chris Kenty. We have been partnering on a project called the “Leadership Exchange and Coaching program,” a leadership development program for leaders of Child Advocacy Centers –- I as facilitator and Dr Kenty as evaluator. We have analyzed the evaluation results and then used them to refine and improve the program. From working with Chris, I now see evaluation as an incredibly helpful tool for continuous improvement rather than as a judgment or sentence on the value of the program. "

"During the past year, we worked with Dr. Walters to develop a strategic plan for the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami. We reviewed various resources and decided to work with Dr. Walters. This was a great decision!
"Finances at the University limited our budget. But Dr. Walters developed an approach that both worked and kept us well within budget by his using electronic communication through most of the process. Jim would join in all our leadership meetings via conference call but be on-site and facilitate the process launch and the final work session. Using that approach, we began the process in Oct, 2008 and successfully launched the completed strategic plan in July, 2009.
"I told Jim once that I really appreciated his “gentle, supportive style”. He laughed, and I am not sure that he understood that his style was exactly the right balance between keeping the process moving, yet not pushing me over the edge. He didn't micromanage but provided expert guidance and advice, and even example of documents when I really needed them. Jim is a technical expert but he is able to adjust his style and his expectations to support my very “non-technical” approach -- essential to our successful working relationship. I came out of the process not only appreciating Jim’s expertise and knowledge of the strategic planning process, but also considering him a friend and an advocate of the department and of me as a leader. I look forward to working with Jim on projects in the future. "
